German Recipe for Fried Fish – Oma's Bratfisch Rezept
This easy recipe for fried fish, aka Bratfisch, is such an easy dinner recipe idea. You can use almost any kind of fish filet or even a small pan fish for each person, and the resultant crispy coating is not a thick doughy one. It's thin, and crisp, and delicious!

Makes 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 4 fish filets or small fish (1 per person)
- about 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- salt
- all-purpose flour (about 1 cup)
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- about 6 tablespoons bread crumbs
- oil or butter to fry
Instructions:
- Sprinkle lemon juice over fish.
- Lightly sprinkle salt over fish to season.
- Heat oil or butter in frying pan over high heat.
- Dredge fish with flour, then dip into egg, and then coat with bread crumbs. Place into frying pan. Repeat with each piece of fish.
- Cook over high heat, turning once or twice, until fish is golden brown and cooked through (should flake with fork).
- Serve immediately.
