Air Fried Chicken Cordon Bleu - Hähnchenroulade in Luftfritteuse
This air fried chicken cordon bleu tastes just like Oma's Hähnchenroulade. The perfect head turning dish to impress your guests and family too. Lecker schmecker!
I used the Instant Vortex Plus Air Fryer Oven to make this delicious chicken. If you have something different, no problem. Simply adjust settings and cook time accordingly.

Servings:
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless and skinless chicken breasts
- 4 black forest ham slices
- 4 mozzarella cheese slices (or cheese of choice.)
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 cup dry breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt and pepper
Instructions:
- Prepare baking tray for the air fryer by spraying lightly with cooking oil. (I use PAM cooking spray.) Also set aside three shallow bowls.
- Cut into the thickest part of the chicken breast to create a pocket.
- Roll together a slice of cheese and ham, and stuff inside the pocket.
- Repeat for remaining chicken breasts.
- Season chicken with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Into your first shallow bowl, pour in flour. Into the second shallow bowl, beat the eggs and milk. Put the breadcrumbs into the third shallow bowl.
- Dredge a stuffed chicken breast in the flour. Dip into the egg mixture. Then, roll in the breadcrumbs. Place onto a plate. Repeat with remaining chicken breasts.
- Cover dish with saran wrap and place in fridge for about 20 minutes to help breading stick to chicken.
- Preheat air fryer oven to 400°F on airfry mode.
- Place chicken breasts onto lightly greased air fryer baking pan. Bake for about 18 to 20 minutes or until done.
Notes/Hints:
- Not all air fryers work at the same speed, so be sure to check the chicken with a thermometer before eating.
- Use whichever kind of cheese you'd like. I used mozzarella because it is one of my favorites!
- If you're having trouble keeping your pockets closed after stuffing with ham and cheese, use a toothpick to hold them while they chill and bake. Yes, it is safe. We also use this trick for rouladen!
